As a third-generation Brisbane builder, Nick began learning from a young age and followed his family into the world of building and construction. Establishing Groove Properties in the mid-2000s, Nick has built a reputation for exceptional personalised service and an eye for detail while creating beautiful projects.

Nick has been in the building industry for over 20 years, and been the Director of Groove Properties for the last 16. He is a third generation builder, with his mother an interior decorator, and other grandfather a landscape architect; his extended family are also prevalent in the industry. In his downtime Nick loves to spend time with his wife and three boys, he loves the outdoors, and to play rugby; but has recently hung up the boots. He has been heavily involved in coaching for the last 6 years.
With almost 30 years in the property industry, Gillian has enjoyed all facets of building and development. Through her own family business and more recently within privately owned companies, she has been involved in all aspects of the lifecycle of residential and mixed use projects. Gillian loves the smell of timber and freshly poured concrete as much as her Brisbane River kayaking sessions.
John has been working in the building industry for over 21 years, 18 of those in a supervisory role. He has extensive experience in both the residential and commercial spaces. John is an avid outdoorsman, and loves to be out in the country, camping, boating and fishing.
Matthew brings a breadth of knowledge to the business with over ten years’ experience working in the construction industry in both publicly owned and privately held businesses. He is a qualified CPA and JP; and gets to wear the office IT expert hat on occasion. He loves running and cycling, and making the most of the beautiful Brisbane weather.
Ali has been working in the building industry for over 15 years, and has been an estimator for the past 10 years. He has experience in commercial and industrial space, as well as over a decade in the residential space. Ali uses smart techniques in monitoring projects, and does accurate material take-offs and detailed reviews of bid packages, to evaluate and ensure cost-effective construction methods. He can help review plans and suggest savings and efficiencies for client projects. In his spare time Ali loves to spend time with friends and go for hikes and trekking in Brisbane and surrounds.
Tom has been at Groove Properties for five years, working his way up from apprentice to site supervisor over that period. He loves the fast paced environment of running large scale projects. Tom loves spending his weekends outdoors; camping and going to live music and sport. He is about to tick off a bucket list trip around Australia, and will return to Groove in early 2024.
Scott has been in the industry for 13 years, starting in renovations and has been working on townhouse developments for last seven years. Scott is great with detailed and challenging builds, and has been a site supervisor for 3 years. Scott has qualifications in not only construction, but also project management. In his downtime he loves to be outdoors, and is an avid supporter of the Brisbane Lions – next year’s our year!
Jaques has been working in construction for over a decade, in a variety of residential projects from renovations and extensions, to high end new builds. He is an experienced machine operator, and has been in supervisory roles for the last four years. Jaques is a huge Springboks supporter, and loves all things outdoors.
Cameron started out as a boat builder, undertaking his apprenticeship in boat building before pivoting to construction. He has now been in the construction industry for over 18 years, working predominantly in residential supervising high end home builds for over 10 years. He also has experience in commercial construction of childcare centres, school extensions and restaurant refurbs; as well as building sets in the film industry. When he is not hard at work, Cameron loves to coach women’s Rugby League, and also enjoys boating, fishing and camping with his daughters.
